Update on Dead Souls: Resurrection Delay
Dead Souls: Resurrection was scheduled to come out the day after tomorrow, both online and in bookstores worldwide, and as an ebook. The paperback will be delayed, for which I apologize. Many of you have waited months, if not years, for this book.
"It really was no miracle, what happened was just this."
The printer/distributor I use sent me a shipment of improperly cut books. Then they informed me that the levels of black ink caused a saturation issue, which required me to use a color press for a black and white book. This would have forced me to raise the price of the book substantially. I've had to file a claim for the misprinted books. I'm still waiting to here if I'll receive replacements or a refund. I was also told that the ebook I had professionally prepared by the same company would not be available for the Amazon Kindle because of...reasons. All of this was planned and scheduled well in advance. But I've never been one to give up.
First, I prepared a Kindle book for Amazon awhile back, complete with the panel zoom function that provides a more cinematic experience. That's still coming out on the 20th.
Second, I am waiting for a physical proof of the book from Amazon. If the margins or cuts are off, I need to know. I need to see the book for myself. Those should be along in a few days. Once I approve them, the book will be available to order.
If you ordered the paperback already, send me a receipt at publisher@darknotespres.com. I will send you a DRM-free PDF, epub, or Kindle file for free.
I want to thank Dani Filth, Dan Brereton, Monty Borror, and everyone else who provided their editing services, feedback, art finishes, and their valuable time in bringing Dead Souls: Resurrection to life. More than that, I want to thank all of you for your patience. It will be out and it will be out soon.
In the meantime, here's a picture of the new shirt design. My cat, Vlad, is as impressed as he ever is about anything.
