RIP Stan Lee and CONtraflow appearance this weekend

Apologies for the lack of updates.

First, Rest in Peace Stan Lee. None of us would be the same without him. I mean not to take away from his numerous collaborators from over the years. I have nothing but the utmost love and respect for Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, and everyone else who contributed to the Marvel legacy. Lee's contributions to not only comics and popular culture, but American culture, are too numerous to count. He truly was a force of nature--exuberant, funny, welcoming, and possessed of a talent for speaking directly to his readers. I never got to meet him, but I saw him at numerous cons over the years. My one funny story is that he nearly plowed into me backstage in Houston in 2014. We were both guests, and he walking the fastest power walk I've ever seen of a man his age. I practically dived out of the way and didn't even have a second to shake his hand. I doubt he remembered, but I always have.

Second, I'm coming out of my lair this weekend (Friday, November 16-Sunday, November 18) for a signing and appearance at CONtraflow 8 at the New Orleans Airport Hilton (actually in Kenner). CONtraflow was the first show to book me as a named guest instead of a vendor, so I've always had a special place in my heart for them. If you want your Cradle of Filth or 69 Eyes comics signed, or want to pick up my vampire novel Bloody October or my other graphic novels, I'll be there this weekend. I'll even be on a few panels talking about horror, music, and whatever else people ask me about.
